Important Notice Regarding Client-Side Tools
PDFs.lol provides free, client-side, in-browser document manipulation software. We do not host, store, inspect, transmit, or possess any user files. You are solely and exclusively responsible for the content of your documents, their lawful ownership, and compliance with all applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or utilizing the web utilities available on PDFs.lol (“the Website”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you (“User”, “you”) expressly acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you are strictly prohibited from using or accessing this Service.
2. Technical Architecture & Absence of File Custody
The Service functions as a client-side utility suite. All computational processing—including rendering, rasterization, page reordering, splitting, merging, rotating, compressing, and watermarking—executes entirely within the local Random Access Memory (RAM) of your device’s web browser through WebAssembly and client-side JavaScript APIs.
At no point are your documents, file fragments, images, or extracted text ever transmitted across the internet to our servers or stored on our cloud infrastructure. Because PDFs.lol never obtains custody, possession, control, or visibility of your files, PDFs.lol is physically incapable of monitoring, inspecting, or screening the documents you choose to process.
3. User Warranties & Lawful Content Representations
You retain 100% ownership, title, and intellectual property rights in and to any documents loaded into your browser session. In exchange for the free use of this Service, you explicitly warrant, represent, and covenant that:
- Authorized Ownership: You are the sole author or copyright owner of the document, or you have obtained explicit, verifiable authorization or legal license from the copyright holder to manipulate, convert, extract, or export the document.
- No Infringement: Your use of the Service does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third-party copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, moral right, or proprietary interest.
- No Malicious or Unlawful Materials: You will not use the Service to process files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), malware, computer viruses, stolen financial or personal data, or material that promotes terrorism or violence.
- Compliance with Law: Your processing and distribution of any resulting files complies with all municipal, state, federal, and international laws, regulations, and statutes.
4. Strict Anti-Piracy & Anti-Plagiarism Policy
PDFs.lol maintains an uncompromising, zero-tolerance stance regarding copyright piracy and academic misconduct:
- Zero Tolerance for Pirated Works: The Service is intended exclusively for legitimate personal, administrative, commercial, and professional document workflows. You may NOT use this Service to deconstruct, reassemble, or facilitate the unauthorized sharing or distribution of commercial books, textbooks, paywalled academic papers, proprietary software manuals, or copyrighted entertainment media.
- Prohibition of Academic Fraud: The Service may not be used to evade plagiarism detection software, strip attribution watermarks from academic works, or facilitate academic dishonesty.
- Independent User Liability: Any violation of intellectual property laws or academic codes of conduct using your local browser environment is committed solely by you. PDFs.lol disclaims all secondary, contributory, or vicarious liability for user-instigated infringements.
5. Comprehensive Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold completely harmless PDFs.lol, its individual creators, operators, contributors, affiliates, licensors, and infrastructure providers from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, suits, proceedings, judgments, penalties, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and litigation expenses) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service;
- Any document, file, image, text, or content processed or exported by you;
- Any claim that your document infringes, violates, or misappropriates any copyright, trademark, trade secret, or privacy right of any third party;
- Your breach or violation of any provision of these Terms or applicable law.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties (“AS IS”)
THE SERVICE, SOFTWARE, CODE, AND WEB UTILITIES ARE PROVIDED STRICTLY ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, PDFS.LOL AND ITS OPERATORS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, BUG-FREE, SECURE, OR ACCURATE, OR THAT FILE CONVERSIONS, RASTERIZATIONS, OR COMPRESSIONS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS WITHOUT LOSS OF VECTOR FIDELITY.
7. Absolute Limitation of Liability
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, SHALL PDFS.LOL, ITS CREATORS, DEVELOPERS, OPERATORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, DOCUMENT CORRUPTION, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR HARDWARE CRASHES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. BECAUSE THIS UTILITY IS PROVIDED TO YOU ENTIRELY FREE OF CHARGE WITHOUT FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER ANY THEORY OF LAW SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE U.S. DOLLAR ($1.00 USD).
8. User Backup Responsibility & Data Integrity
Browser-based document processing carries inherent risks of memory exhaustion, browser tab crashes, or formatting discrepancies. You are solely and exclusively responsible for maintaining redundant, secure backup copies of your original documents before using any tool on PDFs.lol. We assume zero liability for data destruction, document corruption, or unrecoverable files.
9. Intellectual Property Claims & Inquiries
PDFs.lol respects legitimate intellectual property rights. Because all document operations execute client-side on the user’s device and zero documents are hosted on our servers, we possess no technical ability to access, delete, or modify files located on users’ private computers or smartphones.
However, if you are a copyright or trademark owner who believes that any static text, software code, graphic asset, or branding published on the PDFs.lol website itself infringes your intellectual property, please submit a detailed written inquiry to our contact address: contact@pdfs.lol.
10. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that specific provision shall be deemed severable from these Terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. These Terms constitute the entire legal agreement between you and PDFs.lol concerning your use of the Service.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to amend, alter, or update these Terms at any time without prior individual notice. All modifications will take effect immediately upon being posted to this URL. Your continued use of the Website following any amendment constitutes your complete and irrevocable acceptance of the revised Terms.
